Singing Festival 2015

This time of year thou may'est in me behold
When yellow leaves, or none or few, do hang
upon those boughs that shake against the cold
bare ruin'ed walls where late the sweet birds sang.

But there will be plenty of singing in Ballymore Eustace where the 14th. Ballymore Singing Festival takes place.

Friday 17th.

Gathering Singing Session in Phil Murphy’s with singers from England, Scotland, Wales and Irish singing circles.

Saturday 18th.

3.00 p.m. Talk in the Parish Hall
“ In the footsteps of Great Irish Explorers” by Frank Nugent.
Followed by a singing session hosted by Frank in Phil Murphy’s at 4.00 p.m.

8.30 p.m. Singing session in Headon’s hosted by the inimitable Sean Mone with songs serious and comic.

Sunday 19th.

Stewart Carolan, an exciting new voice on the traditional singing scene will host a singing session in Phil Murphy’s at 3.00 P.M

There will be a traditional music session in Headons at 8.30 p.m with The Ballymore Singers and guests

2010 festival announced

The 2010 Ballymore Eustace Singing Festival line up includes the regular sessions over the weekend in Headons & Mick Murphy's pubs, as well as Daoiri Farrell in Phil Murphy's at 4 pm on Saturday the 16th; and Len Graham giving a talk about Joe Holmes in the Parochial Hall on Sunday the 17th at 2 pm followed by a singing session in Headons at 4 p.m.

As CJ says: "Its that time of year again "when yellow leaves or none or few to hang upon those bows that shake against the cold, where late the sweet bird sang" but don't despair, it's time for the Ballymore Eustace Singing Festival. Let joy be unconfined. Sing all your blues away."

2009 festival

We invite you to come to the beautiful village of Ballymore Eustace for a weekend of traditional singing and to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Liffey valley.

This is the 8th Ballymore Eustace Singing Festival. It has become a calendar event for singers from all over Ireland as well as Britain, France Scotland and Wales. The festival is sponsored by local business people and Kildare County Council.

This year, among others, the festival will feature:

Rosie Stewart (Traditional Singer of the year TnaG 2004 will host a session and launch her new CD)
Ron Kavana
Jerry O'Reilly
Barry Gleeson
Dick Hogan

These will be joined by a host of other singers, from the Goilin Singers, the Nenagh Singers Circle to well known singers from the Kildare and Wicklow area.
